At the Upstream Collective, cohorts are the heart of what we do. They’re where our resources, coaching, and community come together in the most personalized and impactful way—helping church leaders move from confusion to clarity on the path to becoming a healthy sending church.
You may feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or even isolated in your role as a missions leader. Even with access to resources, it can be hard to know where to start. Cohorts bring everything into focus, guiding you step by step with a trusted Upstream leader and a community of peers on the same journey.

The Local Outreach Cohort is a three-month online training designed for local church missions and outreach leaders who want to actively engage their communities through mercy ministry, international outreach, and refugee or immigrant engagement.
Designed for mission leaders who want to expand and strengthen their church’s sending strategy. Look beyond traditional structures to envision, discern, and develop flexible, strategic, and highly effective "alternative pathways" for cross-cultural missions.
The cohort designed specifically for church missions leaders who want to move past the logistics of just "booking trips" and build a strategic, healthy, and deeply impactful short-term missions ministry.
Join a hybrid gathering of church missions leaders to learn the steps to becoming a healthy sending church. The cohort is facilitated by Upstream leaders and is structured according to the Sending Church Elements.
A virtual cohort designed for volunteers who lead in missions at their church. Lay missions leaders will grow together and learn how to build a high-impact missions strategy that fits your schedule and budget as a volunteer leader.
This specialized virtual cohort gives local church missions leaders the tools, confidence, and structures to take primary responsibility for discerning and equipping their own missionary candidates.
