Nathan Sloan

Nathan serves as the Executive Director of Sending, where he provides vision, leadership, and coaching to help churches send missionaries well. He leads Upstream’s Sending team, works closely with mission pastors and field missionaries, and helps shape the division’s strategic direction.

Before stepping into his current role, Nathan served as a missions pastor at a sending church in Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to that, he and his wife, Sarah, spent several years as cross-cultural missionaries in Kathmandu, Nepal, discipling emerging leaders and engaging an unreached people group.

Nathan holds a Doctor of Missiology (DMiss) from Southern Seminary. He is the author of You Are Sent: Finding Your Place in God’s Global Mission and Multisite Missions Leadership, and co-author of Lent and Mission: A 40-Day Devotional and The Sending Church Applied. 

Nathan and Sarah live with their two children, continuing to live sent—at home and around the world.
