WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

In the past four years, the best thing that has happened to me in seeing a global missional vision has been to partner with Upstream on the Jet Set trips. From Taiwan to Turkey to Tokyo, these trips are more than just "mission" trips but really"missiology in motion." You get a first hand look at both the whys and hows we can be more effective in God's global mission. I would recommend every pastor and church planter to consider joining on one of these trips!  - Ray Chang, Senior Pastor Ambassador Church, EFCA AA Coordinator, Adjunct Professor at Talbot Seminary

I enjoyed the cultural discovery and learning that becomes so fresh in context. This experience provided me with confirmation of how God wants to use our church, and me to lead, in engaging the nations to see gospel seeds spread and be (re-)established…The best thing about the trip was the fellowship with the missionaries. I never get enough of sharing meals, listening to their stories, learning from them and, hopefully, encouraging them in their work. I felt very prepared. UC does an excellent job on Jet Sets. We will be returning to establish our partnership and work with missionaries to establish a strategy.  -Lane Harrison, Pastor of LifePoint Church in Ozark, MO

My biggest takeaway was examining where our church is in the journey of becoming a missional people. Arriving at our convictions as a missional church is critical. Seeing the vast opportunity out there to help Southern France recover the gospel is exciting. I came with an open mind and learned a lot.  -Ryan Ingold, Pastor of Crosspointe Church in Saline, AR

I appreciated very much the emphasis on multiple levels of interaction on the field (short, mid, and long-term). The best thing I think from my perspective is time to be both challenged, encouraged, and reminded why we are all doing what we do. This trip was multi-faceted in its benefit. I am still praying through how my church takes part in the work there. But, I am also having our leaders begin to think about our city as we seek to strengthen our work locally.  -Seth Shelton, Pastor of The Way Church in Springfield, MO
