Advanced Mission Leader Cohort
Upstream’s Executive Director, Larry McCrary will be leading this cohort in the beautiful city of Madrid, Spain from January 30 to February 5, 2020. Madrid, a city of over 6 million people, will provide a world class urban setting for learning how to develop sending in your local church. This historic city not only offers the opportunity to observe European Spanish culture, but it also hosts peoples from different countries and religions, making it a perfect place to observe and apply missionary skills.
This “advanced" cohort takes you to the next level of becoming the sending church you want to be. You will spend six full days studying the facets of leading your church into a sending culture with practical application.
Who is it for?
Previous Upstream cohort members - This is a great follow up engagement for those of you who have already spent time in our cohorts, or have received some other Upstream training in the past.
Mission Pastors and Leaders who want to lead proactively instead of reactively as it pertains to local and global missions.
How this cohort will benefit you:
You will learn how to prepare your church to send out and disciple short-, mid-, and long-term workers as you meet with national and international field workers. Sessions include: Establishing Mission Convictions, Developing Awareness, Casting a Vision, and Setting a Strategy.
You will gain a better understanding of what missionary care looks like and how your church can care for its sent ones as you talk to missionaries that are currently overseas. Session includes: Soul Care and Shepherding Your Sent Ones.
You will get an in-depth look at what makes a good field partnership and how to go about selecting quality field partners as you look at ministry centers and projects and interview their leaders. Sessions include: Choosing Partners and Putting Together Short- and Mid-Term teams.
These are just a few of the topics that will be covered on the field. Once you return home we will facilitate four monthly video calls (1.5 hours) and provide you with a one-on-one call each month as you desire.
We have a limited number of spaces for this cohort, so reserve your spot quickly. Deadline to register is October 1, 2019.
We are excited to offer this unique educational and collaborative experience. Don’t miss it!
